The New Orleans Police Department has issued a simple battery warrant for Odell Beckham Jr. after he slapped a police officer on the butt inside LSU's locker room on Monday night at the Superdome. Per NOLA.com:
quote:

New Orleans police on Thursday morning obtained an arrest warrant accusing NFL player Odell Beckham Jr. of simple battery in relation to a locker room interaction he had with a Superdome police officer Monday night.

A police spokesman said the warrant was issued after a video showed Beckham apparently slapping an officer's buttocks after LSU's championship game.

A law enforcement source said authorities originally sought a warrant for a misdemeanor sexual battery charge, but it was declined by a judge.
Here's video of the incident:

this may amount to a civil battery but not criminal....this is abuse of discretion and authority by NOPD....despicable....LSU LEGEND CELEBRATING having fun and insecure emotionally imbalanced NOPD officer wants to take offense to what was likely a harmless playful butt slap and use her public position and badge to retaliate...pitiful....who wants to retaliate for a butt slap anyway ??? okay if you want to retaliate slap OBJ on his butt....anything else is excessive

Gung ho cop shouldn't have been assigned to the locker room. I bet you his co-workers are not surprised with how he acted.

This is such an embarrassment! I can’t stand people like this. He should have all his duties taken away for doing this to LSU on their most exciting night of their lives. It’s so freakn wrong on every level. I hope public opinion comes raining down on this security guard and anyone else involved or puts themselves in the middle of it. Like NOPD. They could have easily told this dude to STFU and move on. Instead they get involved. They’ll get what they all deserve. This guy shouldn’t even be in that locker room in the first place.

The NOPD should be embarrassed they are pressing charges over something this ridiculous given the context. They bend over backwards for "community support" then do something this stupid.

Odell is a dumbass. But that rent a cop is a typical dipshit going on a power trip trying to assert some fake authority. No different than those assholes wearing a real uniform.

Kinda weird we didn't hear about this untill after it has been reported LSU is now having deal with this,Odell handing out REAL cash like a self centered moron and put some kids and program in a real real tough spot w/the whole world watching including the NCAA ,wouldn't be surprised if A.D Scott Woodward didn't place a phone call to his contacts in N.O and say "remember Monday night when y'all called me about Odell and I asked you guys to let that indiscretion with the rent-a-cop in the locker room go he's in the family

I am no OBJ fan but the police officer handled it poorly - get with the AD, head coach and let them manage the players - the excitement was at level 100 and the officer had no business in there

I can 1 million percent assure you the NOPD has more important things to do than tell a bunch of players to put out their cigars after winning the national championship
