Report: LSU RB Lanard Fournette Has Left The Team

LSU senior running back Lanard Fournette has left the team, according to ESPN College Football writer Edward Aschoff.

Fournette, the younger brother of former LSU star and current Jacksonville Jaguars running back Leonard Fournette, graduated in May and withdrew from school on Wednesday, the source said.

The source said Lanard Fournette "just wants to move on with his life."

Fournette, a senior, carried the ball just 13 times for 36 yards and a touchdown in four games this season. During his four years with the Tigers, Fournette totaled just 162 rushing yards and two touchdowns.

Glad he graduated and contributed to the Tigers. Wish he’d finish out what is shaping up to be a special year, but everyone has their reasons.

Applaud him for graduating, but kind of confusing why he'd have put in so much work to get ready for this season and them leave while LSU football is at its highest point in quite a few years and looks like a serious CFP contender. I get that he's not getting a ton of playing time, but he's leaving early on what may be a very special season

The kid worked hard, contributed and got his degree. Can’t ask for more from any young man. Wish he would have finished out what has the potential to be a special season, however, while this is a decision I don’t understand, it’s one I can definitely respect.

The Kid's got a degree, he's not playing pro ball. Why delay the inevitable? Especially if he has a job offer.

I don’t blame him. He’s already graduated. He won’t play in NFL. Why go through week after week of grueling practices for just over 3 carries per game?

Because LSU is looking like a team that is a legit CFP contender. He'll regret this decision if LSU makes a run and his teammates are playing in a national championship game while he's watching on TV. And one injury to CEH or Emery could easily have resulted in a bigger workload for LF.

Wish him the best. There's no shame in this. The guy is a good athlete. A lot of good athletes aren't quite SEC good. But he's no chump and he never complained or made an arse of himself

his degree is in Sports Administration, which is the major of the vast majority of football players at LSU. Now look, graduating in any major is an accomplishment that I applaud, but let's be real and know that this isn't a rigorous major like pre-med, engineering, mathematics, accounting, etc. with many, many job opportunities open to those graduates.

I mean look the guy a fantastic leader and teammate but let us not forget O gave him his chance and and as I watched from the seats at DKR every single time he got the ball in open field the lone tackler made the tackle end of story.
