LSU athletic director Scott Woodward reportedly pursued Texas A&M coach Jimbo Fisher up until the end of LSU's search with an 8-year, $125 million deal that would pay him $13 million a year.

These numbers were first reported by Billy Liucci of TexAgs and then by Brett McMurphy of the Action Network.

Fisher was making $7.5 million this year and will earn $9 million in 2022.

Brian Kelly's new 10-year contract at LSU will start at $9 million in the first year and increase over time up to $10 million, plus incentives.

Woody made only one offer. That offer was to BK. The highest contract offered was to BK because it was the only offer. Many inquiries were fielded by Woody from agents. Non-disclosure documents were signed and emailed between the parties prohibiting discussion of their communication, their interest, or their clients. Woody fielded questions where somebody “heard this, or heard that.” One hundred percent of those questions were denied because they were lies being generated by reporters trying to create a false narrative or agents trying to falsely enhance the value of a client to an employer. Woody did not participate in those discussions. Other than information produced through FOI discovery, communications between other agents and Woody are “papered up.” Anyone saying otherwise are lying!

Fake news, all this is coming from the atm side. Consider the source. Lucci drums up support for a coach that is starting to be questioned by fans. "But look our coach is so good LSU would pay stupid money for him" blah, blah, blah. Meanwhile the Aggs start thinking maybe he is a good coach and Lucci makes more money from their clicks. This is classic Aggie sunshine pumping.

Hey Aggs, print the cups, "We kept our coach!" Meanwhile ignore that 2-9 record against LSU since you entered the SEC.

So LSU was going to offer a coach 13 million per year that was defeated by our fired lame duck coach and a bunch of third string players in last game of season?!?!?! BWAHAHAHAHAHAHA ! Oh no Aggie fans….he is alllllll yours!

This has to be crap, right? I’d Woody dumb enough to make this kind of offer to a consistent 4 loss coach.

No way this is true, he has lost 4 or more games 4 of the last 5 years. Why would we hire a coach with a worse record in the same conference that supposedly has more resources

There's no way this happened.

Woodward continues to prove he is the most overrated AD in the country.

That is the dumbest statement ever. He has signed two of the most successful coaches in their respective sports. Fayard is spot on.

Trust me on this...there is NO WAY Jimbo was offered this and stayed at TAM for less. He plays schools off each other for raises. He is NOT going to take ONE DOLLAR less to stay at one school over another. No way.

Scott Woodward is CLUELESS if this is true...

I have no idea why people are high on Jimbo

I don't hate Jimbo. I think he's a good coach. Why some people think he's the best choice, however, is a mystery.

Hopefully, the AD really did not do this. Jimbo is done….he is the property and problem of Aggy…..keep it that way.
