Brody Miller with The Athletic is reporting that LSU is pursuing Notre Dame coach Brian Kelly to be the next head coach of the Tigers.

Miller said that LSU reached out to Kelly early on in the search for Ed Orgeron's replacement and is now pursuing him even more.

Almost everyone on here is talking about how much it would suck to have Brian Kelly, but imagine how ND fans feel. We are sitting comfortably at 6 with a 11-1 record thinking we might have a shot at the playoffs again, then all of a sudden everyone starts blowing up your phone if you have heard that Kelly might be leaving for LSU. He’s been at ND for 12 years now and his .743 winning percentage trails only Nick Saban among active FBS coaches with at least 15 years of head coaching experience. He has a total of 252 wins only 5 away from nick sabens 257. If that doesn’t say how valuable he is to ND I don’t know what does. Please by all means if LSU doesn’t want him we will keep him.

A plus is he’s well known to Louisiana and Texas high school coaches. ND recruits same kids

So disappointedin the last couple seasons and now lsu is finalizing the hire of brian kelly :( I hope he can prove me wrong. Will be all over the net Tuesday, woody found his guy. Fuccccc you got nick saban Jr brewing in your back yard for 4 years in lafayette Louisiana and uou don't even look at the guy. Florida moves in quick and comes to talk to Napier at his house in lafayette a day before Thanksgiving. Can't blame the guy, he felt wanted vs the big school down the street woody didn't even give his agent a call. Why was Joe aleva so bad vs woody at his job?? I totally forgot already. Woody screwing up big time

For all of y’all bitching, y’all don’t know shite about football. Do you know how many Notre Dame o lineman are in the NFL? They’re everywhere. He wins with so so talent because Notre Dame is so strict. He will do well and he isn’t scared of the SEC like little Lincoln.

Woodward has screwed this up in a major way. Good woman’s basketball and baseball hires…. But he has completely blown the football coaching search….

ok so now LEAKS are coming out for our HC ?! This GUY is not a whale. He cannot win an NC at a school like Notre Dame? I’ve said this before Lou Holtz did it. My opinion doesn’t matter but I’m DV this guy

Do you have any clue how hard it is to recruit to Notre Dame? Probably 90% of our players could not even play there because they wouldn’t meet Notre Dame’s academic standards. Give him LSU talent people.

An average coach and below average person. Wow, underwhelmed!

Is this a real post? An average coach? After Saban and Urban, he’s as good as is out there. You may not like him, but he’s a very good coach and has won 85% of his games at a school that makes it really hard to recruit players to.

Beating service academies and football has beens in the Big 10 and Pac 12 are nice resume enhancers but won't mean squat in the SEC. Your math is a little off too, 70% win percentage. Coach O had a better winning percentage at LSU and we fired him.

He beat both of our last two coaches when he faced them. He put Cincy on the map and went undefeated with them when they sucked forever. He brought ND back to relevancy with multiple top 5 finishes, multiple playoff appearances and an NC appearance when ND didn't have a top 5 finish in just about 2 decades. To say he is an average coach is just ignorant based on his win % at all of his stops. He has won and won a lot at every place he has been.
