Report: LSU DB Jordan Toles Has Entered The Transfer Portal

Brody Miller with The Athletic is reporting that LSU junior defensive back Jordan Toles has entered the NCAA Transfer Portal.

The former four-star prospect from Baltimore, Md. (St. Frances Academy) was set to enter his third year with the Tigers this season. He played in eight games during his true freshman season in 2020 and saw action in six games last season.

Most likely will go back home to Maryland. That would be a good spot for him honestly as he’d probably start there this year. Wish the kid luck. Sorry it didn’t work out at LSU but that’s the nature of SEC football. You have to be the very best of the best to play in this division.

I can’t blame him, the db Room is pretty good and there is depth. He needs to get a spot where he play and be able to make it to the league. The kid is very talented but with who all CBK brought in he was going to have limited time. Good luck young man!

If the reason is that his skill set is not suited to our defense now, then transferring makes sense for both sides. But just “he never found a role” sounds hollow for a guy who saw lots of playing time his first two years. There was a time when players weren’t even expected to be starters until their junior years.

I remember hearing his name all off-season as one of Coach Os hyped up true freshman. He didn't play at all despite us being terrible on defense. I was clamoring to get in against Auburn when we were getting waxed. Very first play was an 8o yard TD over his head. Stopped expecting him to contribute after that.

You guys are idiots man. This dude was never a cover type of safety. He was always a run stopping and blitzing type of safety that we sometimes used in our old defenses. This new system just doesn’t fit his talent but that doesn’t mean the kid isn’t very talented. He can be valuable to the right type of defense. This defense asks everyone to cover and be balanced at stopping the run also. That’s not his thing. He was never going to be a great cover guy here unless something miraculous happened, which sometimes does happen and you get a really good player. That was probably the hope and we’d use him near the LOS or in the run game until then. Not everyone that transfers can’t hack it or sucks. It’s not necessary to imply this.

Or rob62…. Maybe just maybe LSU just got a new staff and maybe just maybe he doesn’t fit the new defense? This is how I know you idiots know nothing about football. Not a damn thing. You can put this sucky player in a new defense and at a new place and all of a sudden they don’t suck anymore? I wonder why that is? Probably because they don’t actually suck. But your little brain can’t think of anything else to say or call it so he just sucks. Lol This guy could leave here in August, go play a role for Auburn or A&M in Oct. and be the player who decided a football game between us. Now you’ll be saying our coaches suck. Which isn’t true. It’s simply your little brain at work. Not your fault. If a guy really sucks, I have no issue saying it but I won’t say that for every player who leaves LSU and was a top rated player in the country. Auburn has turned guys like this in the past into really good LBs. Our defense doesn’t fit this dude. Period. Nothing feel good about it, it’s a fact.
