LSU defensive back Kelvin Joseph has entered his name into the NCAA transfer portal, according to Matt Zenitz with AL.com.

Joseph was a highly recruited safety from Scotlandville Magnet in Baton Rouge for the 2018 class but moved to cornerback for his freshman season because of depth issues in LSU's secondary.

LSU's cornerback positions for the upcoming season are expected to be filled by senior Kristian Fulton and true freshman standout Derek Stingley.

The new NCAA transfer portal allows schools to now recruit Joseph but he could also remove his name from the portal if he chooses to remain at LSU.

Pure speculation- feels like savion. Wasn’t he suspended for the Fiesta bowl when we desperately needed corners?

Makes no sense unless he has destroyed his reputation with the coaching staff in some way we are not aware of.

Seems like while his role might not be "definitive" right now, he has a definite substantial role of some kind for this season. I don't know why he'd walk away from that. This portal crap has to go.

No chest. When players do this when he will already have some playing time it erks me. I rather him leave now and bail cuz if he csnt handle it this early he will quit later during a game. Instant chemistry poison.

Could be grades. He sat out of the bowl game because of them and the spring semester grades were just released.

Not surprised as Dave Aranda said he had first-round talent at the cornerback position. I hope he changes his mind. As we can't afford to lose his talent and his experience.

Either : A) There is off the field stuff that will affect his playing time B) He is getting some terrible advice C) The youngsters are just ALL ridiculously good

The young men are just using this for hookers and blow. They miss the high school years, when all the coaches were swooning over them.
