Derick E. Hingle-USA TODAY Sports
ESPN writer David Ching ranked the LSU running back group No. 3 in his preseason SEC RB rankings, behind Georgia and Alabama. Here is what he had to say about LSU:
quote:

3. LSU: The Tigers not only have a budding superstar in Leonard Fournette, but they also have solid depth behind him with Darrel Williams and talented freshmen Derrius Guice and Nick Brossette. Fournette will likely become the centerpiece of LSU’s improving offense this fall, even if the Tigers spread it out more than in their highly conservative scheme of 2014.
Complete preseason SEC Running Back rankings:

1. Georgia
2. Alabama
3. LSU
4. Tennessee
5. Auburn
6. Missouri
7. Arkansas
8. Mississippi State
9. South Carolina
10. Florida
11. Texas A&M
12. Kentucky
13. Ole Miss
14. Vanderbilt

Where do you think the LSU running back group should be ranked amongst the rest of the SEC?

Holy shite. In no way is Bama's rbs better than LSU's Rbs. That's rediculous. Anthony Jennings had more rushing yards than Bama's 2nd best returning rb.

Barring injury, LSU wins it this year. The hiring of Tony Ball is going to be huge for the LSU running game and UGA will notice his loss as the WRs will add quality blocking technique missed last year and which has been a staple at UGA under Ball.

Henry is essentially Bama's offense. Take him away and Bama is damn near mediocre. When he touched the Ball vs Ohio State he was effective! The guy is a man!

Henry is much better than mediocre and had Saban and Kiffin used him more in the Sugar Bowl, they would have beaten Ohio State.

Drake is pretty damn impressive as a RB/WR.

Obviously I'd take our depth and what I feel to be better quality of depth, over just Henry, Drake, and freshman Harris.

Yeah I hate Bama as much as anyone, but if you think Henry is mediocre you have issues.

"He is much better than mediocre"

I haven't seem anything particularly impressive about him, especially in comparison to previous Bama backs.

"mediocre Henry "

He is much better than mediocre. I think Fornette is ahead of him and LSU collectively is better than Bama though.

So, Alabama is second with a mediocre Henry as their front runner, Drake, and two guys who have never played college ball (one with a bum knee)? LOL @ ESPN.
