Preseason SEC Defensive Backs Rankings

ESPN writer Edward Aschoff ranked the SEC defensive backs in his preseason position rankings article Friday and pegged LSU at No. 2 behind the Florida Gators. Here is what he had to say about the Tigers:

2. LSU: The Tigers are convinced they own the "DB U" banner that Florida claimed earlier this year. LSU has an argument after leading the conference in pass-defense efficiency last season (101.6). Excellent cover corner Tre'Davious White (two interceptions) and up-and-coming safety Jamal Adams (66 tackles) lead a deep secondary. Junior Rickey Jefferson must replace star safety Jalen Mills (fracture fibula) for a few weeks, but he has played in 20 games in two years.

Ed did not display good journalism based on his bias alumni position with Florida. That was a very poor commentary without any definitive references to support his B.S. claims.

I see two reasons why they would put Florida ahead of us. They have the bigger name/star player in Vernon Hargreaves and we lost our most veteran player and leader to injury for a few games. Yea we've got great young players but no one outside of Louisiana knows who they are
