Good for OBJ! A great Tiger. E Reid put Clemson on the map when he fell asleep during the 4th Q of the Chicken Bowl and assured Clemson it’s first big win. Now we have an opportunity to show the world the real Tiger and override E Reid’s nightmare. He has gone on to embarrass LSU and his family after leaving Tiger Town.

say what you will about this man, but he is very magnanimous and loves his school.

I guess it's legal if it fits certain conditions. Beats is probably an OBJ sponsor. These gifts were for the entire staff/team. equal amounts. No one gets less/more. Who knows how it works, but I'm sure they go through the appropriate channels. OBJ is good people. He's passionate, but he cares.

OBJ is freaking awesome. How many other NFL players do you see giving back to their Alma Mater. Most go on to success and only acknowledge their old school when they are asked about it in an interview. OBJ is and will always be a legend... and Forever LSU.

“Yeah let me spend X dollars so I can save a percentage of X dollars come tax season”. I’m sure that’s why he bought all those headphones and have them away to his alma mater.

Who cares if it is a tax break or not? Why should that even matter to anyone? It is something nice that he did and also something he didn't have to do. I know u r not a OBJ hater. Maybe he loves his alma mater and wanted to do something nice for the program that helped him get to where he is now.

I’m glad he does this, can someone explain he can do this but I have the team $20 gift cards to walk ons it a violation? I don’t get the NCAA

If you made the donation to the team or athletic department, and the cards were for the entire team, I don’t believe that is a violation. Someone correct me if I’m wrong

I think it is part of the bowl package and as long as the total dollar value for each player package is under a certain amount they can get stuff like this. If the bowl package is worth $1000 these $200 headphones means each player can still get $800 more worth of shit

I approve of this very kind gesture. OBJ sure does make it hard to dislike him... I truly think he is one of the most misunderstood athletes of our time.

I too love me some OBJ, but I bet a lot of peeps in NYC and Cleveland would disagree. Geaux Tigas

Yes. I use them when I workout. My ears get a little hot after a while, but the sound is excellent

I love OBJ. I think he's a really good guy, just kind of unstable sometimes. He seems to be getting it together, though. Very nice gesture.

Didn't Lebron do the same thing? If I remember the note looked similar. It seems like Beats is doing the gifting and the athletes get credit for it.

It’s a part of the bowl package. The total package has to be under a certain amount as a whole that are bowl gifts to the team. Same as when Sony did playstations and surround sound systems to the team. It’s submitted to the school and included in the bowl gift package.

Has nothing to do with the bowl gift package.

What will Reid hand out? Knee Pads?

Isn't it amazing how quickly events change? TM7 was kicked off the team for his antics now he's an excellent ambassador to the program. Reid was an incredibly mature player and the team leader now he's a cancer in the NFL.

Glad to see former players vested in the team’s success. Speaks to the culture built at LSU.
