Nick Saban Calls LSU "Sleeper Team" In 2024, Compares Garrett Nussmeier To Former Bama QB

During SEC Network's coverage of the SEC Media Days on Monday, former Alabama head coach Nick Saban called LSU a sleeper team in 2024 and complimented quarterback Garrett Nussmeier.

Later in coverage, Saban said Nussmeier reminded him of Mac Jones, who waited for his opportunity and developed in the system.

Saban won his first National Championship at LSU. LSU will always be special to him. He lead LSU to a National Championship and LSU taught him a lesson that help him win Championships at BAMA. From his LSU experience he learned exactly the quality of athletes you need to win a National Championship.

I totally agree! Saban leaving LSU to coach the Dolphins is a venal sin that can be forgiven. His return to college coaching at Alabama is a mortal sin that merits eternal damnation. Frick Traitor Nick indeed, Mr. Hampton!

LSU is not a sleeper team. A example of a sleeper team would be a team like South Carolina expected to be mediocre, but could be pretty good. Just an example. South Carolina will blow.
