The New England Patriots selected LSU quarterback Danny Etling with the 219th overall pick in the 6th round of the 2018 NFL Draft.

Could Etling be Tom Brady's replacement when he retires?

Always liked Danny. Thought with the right coaching he could go far. He makes good decisions but needs to speed his release and be quicker with his progression. Hoping nothing but the best!

With coaches to help Danny develop, I think he has a high ceiling. Danny is an “all-out” type of guy. He did great in school, played pretty good most of the time against sec players that got drafted way before him. And he did it with integrity and a WHOLE lotta toughness. Congrats Danny

Camp arm and someone who wont expect much attention. Great for him Maybe somehow he can quicken his reads and developers more strength for his longer throws Or NFL CBS will feast in him. Plus the guy has had a back procedure in theboast.

Remember, Young, young team this year boys! We gonna have to be patient and supplement a few heartbreaking losses with some good ole fishing trips to get through. Geaux Tigers!

Go review the depth chart. It’s not a young team. That excuse is gone.

I said it before I'll say it again. Fans around here don't realize how much they're gonna miss Danny till next year

Agreed, and I said all last year that Etling wasn't our problem.

The heart of the Pats just got a replacement. Brady gives his all, DE gives his all. Best of luck to the player who held LSU together when we could have collapsed.

A lot of people have a tough time remembering how our team could have imploded after the beginning of 2016. Some good coaches and good players were the glue that kept them together, with Etling being one of those leaders. Geaux Tigers.

Could not be a more perfect situation for him if he gets the opportunity for action. Danny is a good qb, he’s just not a playmaker. He’s a system qb who hasn’t had the benefit of a system. He’ll move the ball with a great team around him.

He seems like such a great guy. Very happy for him. Really hope the Pats work with him and he can be something special.
