LSU Basketball announced Wednesday that transfer guard Jalen Cook had his request for immediate eligibility as a two-time transfer denied this week.

In the release, LSU says they are appealing the ruling and have submitted new information.

Cook, a former four-star prospect from Walker, Louisiana, originally signed with LSU in 2020 and played his true freshman season under former coach Will Wade.

He spent the last two years at Tulane and averaged 19.9 points, 2.9 rebounds, and 4.9 assists per game last season. He announced his transfer back to LSU in April.

Very clear rule in NCAA. You get 1 transfer and the second you have to be a graduate to transfer. Why would LSU let him back knowing he had not graduated from Tulane?

Pretty sure UNC fought for a transfer whose Covid season was cancelled and transferred to play and made him sit out. The just won the appeal 6-7 games into the football season. And his transfer happened before the ncaa put this rule into effect.

The only power the NCAA has is the power these universities give them.
