By not showing up to organized team activities with the New York Giants this week, Odell Beckham Jr. has caught the attention of the media, coaches, and even former players like Michael Irvin who offered some advice to the former LSU star. Per YardBaker.com:
quote:

“One thing I’d tell him is no matter how popular he gets away from the field, he has to make sure his teammates know there’s nothing more important than what goes on on the football field,” Irvin said. “Jimmy Johnson used to say if he have our focus on the right thing, winning, all of these other things shall be added. If we come in looking for money, fame or women, all of those things, then we’re scattered and we’ll never get to where we want to be.”

“He has to make sure everybody understands that the focus should be on winning, and all of those things come with winning,” Irvin added. “He understands that. He’s a smart kid.”
Beckham Jr. was also in the news earlier this week for signing the richest shoe deal in NFL history on Tuesday.

He's sitting out bc he wants a new deal, according to reports. I think they said he's making like 1/10 of what the top receivers are getting paid and he's better than most of them. I understand he signed his rookie contract and he's still on that, but the Giants need to pay him. Regardless of how you feel about some of his actions, he's a damn good player and can be a game changer.

Let me know when he has three rings. And when Lebron has six for that matter.

This guy hired hookers and labeled them as "models" when busted is telling another player to focus on the field?

Yeah if there is one person out there that has learned from life on and off the football field, it would be Irvin.

I don't like OBJs selfishness or when he is being a whiney B, but Irvin is just a hypocrite.

Granted, it's coming from Michael Irvin, but it isn't the worst advice.

While wearing a handful of Super Bowl rings. Nothing granted about that.
