The New York Giants announced this week that former LSU wide receiver Malik Nabers will wear No. 1 during his rookie season.

The organization previously retired No. 1 in honor of the legendary Ray Flaherty, but according to the Giants, Nabers received permission to wear it this season.

Nabers wore No. 8 at LSU and No. 9 during the Giants preseason training camp, but No. 9 belongs to kicker Graham Gano.

Think it's kinda dumb how you an NFL team that could have 70 or so players over a season would retire a number. NBA and MLB it can make sense, but not the NFL.
