“We are excited about the opportunity to return to Houston for the 2017 season opener against BYU,” said Joe Alleva, LSU Vice Chancellor and Director of Athletics. “We opened the 2014 season against Wisconsin in NRG Stadium and the turnout and response from our fans far exceeded our expectations.

“Houston is a great city with a huge LSU alumni base and NRG Stadium continues to be one of the great venues for football. We look forward to opening the 2017 season against BYU in Houston in what should be another great start to the football season.”
After the BYU game in Houston, LSU will return home to face Syracuse the following weekend in Tiger Stadium.

We play SU during the year. Neither game against them is a kickoff game.

not overly pleased but let's face it we're not ready to open the season against a marquee opponent - this is a winnable game & combined w/ the Syracuse game the following week it should provide solid prep for the conference schedule

Great. Another loss to an overrated religious school, as long as Less is in charge. Makes it easy to tell the poor students. "No" when the Alumni Association has them call the house, though!

Guess we will never see 8 home games again.

Another reason why I will be selling my season tickets this year. Tired of the state of Texas having better non-conference LSU games instead of Tiger Stadium.

How about 3 neutral site games....in Houston vs. SHSU, in Dallas vs. No. TX and Atl. vs. App St. ? As a longtime season ticket holder I'd be OK with that OOC schedule. It's just great for LSU fans out of state, great for the all important "road game" for recruitng purposes and leaves a great OOC game for Tiger Stadium !!

Joe Alleva has got to go. This neutral site game crap is worthless!
