LSU sophomore wide receiver Trey Quinn announced on Twitter Tuesday afternoon that he will be transferring to another school.

The Advocate reports that Quinn intends on transferring to a FBS school but will not be allowed to join an SEC team.

Quinn plans to remain in the Football Bowl Subdivision, the source said. He will sit out a year, according to NCAA rules.

LSU released Quinn to speak with other schools on Monday, but the program barred him from transferring to a Southeastern Conference team, the source said.
Quinn, a native of Lake Charles, LA finishes his career at LSU with 22 receptions for 276 yards and 0 touchdowns.

This place was a terrible fit for him. He should do good things at the right place.

I'd like to see how he could do in a system like Texas Tech or Washington State has.

I think he is loaded with talent and we never gave him a chance. If he goes to Baylor or Texas tech he'll catch 80 balls. This sucks.

He's a true pocession receiver and LSU doesn't know what that is. Let's sling it 45 yards downfield to the sideline and see what happens.

Just saw the update, LSU will not let him go to another SEC school. Whew, watch him end up at Clemson as their slot WR.

Kevin Spears is out now as well. Give me MOAR Tyron!

He is good....just can't get any time on the field. The guys on the field rarely get to see the ball so, I understand.

Don't say we never gave him a chance. He started as a true freshman. The dude dropped 2 chances to seal the win against Bama. I wish the best to him but Malachi, Dural and Tyron were all simply more talented.

Very disappointed to see him go. I thought he could have been big here with his talent. I guess we haven't had the offense for players like him to shine, and now he's buried on the depth chart anyway.

He was completely misused and for all of the good that has happened this off season he deserved better. He was a stud in highschool and there is no reason he should not have flourished at LSU. It's another example of Cameron not putting an offense on the field that fits the talent with the exception of RB's. He is the kind of player that if used right, would keep any defense off balance. And he isn't just a possession guy with no speed. He's a guy that in space would do a lot of damage. And he has hands. But you can't throw the ball to him once in a blue moon 30 and 40 yards down field and expect to achieve anything. This is on Cameron and Miles. His talent is real and it was wasted.
