LSU To Name New Players' Lounge After Former DB Tyrann Mathieu

LSU's soon-to-be updated players' lounge located in the football operations center will be renamed "The Mathieu Players’ Lounge" after former defensive back Tyrann Mathieu.

Mathieu made a $1 million donation to the football program last year. Per The Advocate:

The room is being named after former LSU defensive back and current Arizona Cardinals star Tyrann Mathieu, according to documents. The LSU Board of Supervisors must approve the renaming of the room at its meeting next Friday.

The players’ lounge is located in the football operations center and is just a few months away from a facelift. Mathieu donated $1 million to the program last fall, funds that will go to the renovation of the football complex, specifically the lounge.

A very well deserved attaboy for a very strong young man. The amount of determination required to go from being kicked off the LSU team to training on his own to being drafted for nearly nothing to becoming the highest paid safety in the league is something very few people possess. He kept his nose to the grind stone and I'm so glad its paying off for him now. Great comeback story, I'm so proud he's a Tiger!

Big shout out to Patrick Peterson, one HELL of a best friend to TM. Could the Badger have done it on his own? Probably. But with PP7 there to live with him and keep him on track, it was all but certain.

Very true. Patrick Peterson was a sort of a compass for Mathieu, helping keep him on the straight and narrow. I don't think its a coincidence Mathieu ended up on the same team as Peterson.
