LSU athlete Derrick Davis announced Monday night that he is entering the transfer portal.

The Monroeville, Pa. native signed with LSU as a four-star prospect in the 2021 class and played in 12 games last year at the safety position.

Davis saw action in three games this season at the safety position before moving to running back for the UAB game, where he rushed for 28 yards on five carries.

Following the UAB game, head coach Brian Kelly joked that they should have moved Davis to offense earlier but that they were shutting him down to preserve his redshirt and was excited about his future.

If these players that are hitting the portal do not want to be an LSU Tiger we do not need them. We want players that are loyal to LSU and want to be LSU Tigers. Good luck.

Ever wonder how these “farewell letters” always read the same? Square them up with the way these players write on Twitter and then ask how any of them struggle with academics when the athletic department clearly even writes or gives them a pre-written template for their farewell letters.

Do you also feel the same way for players that transfer to LSU?

You almost expect it now in today's college football if they don't play time to hit the portal.
