LSU quarterback Brandon Harris spoke with reporters over the weekend at the Manning Passing Academy and said that he has gained 10-pounds since the end of the last season and wants to weigh-in at 222 when the season starts in September.

Harris, who was 206-pounds to start the 2015 season, hope the added weight will lead to a healthier 2016 campaign. Per NOLA.com:
quote:

"I hope to sustain it through the course of a season and I can stay healthy. The main thing is leading. We lost games last year. I got to do a better job of grasping our team which I think I'm doing and taking a better role this offseason. Guys look at you and they played with you last season and they know what to expect. They know what your expectations are. I'm excited about this upcoming season. I'm really excited. My confidence is really high. I'm looking forward to opening day."

"That's the reason why I was coming into this season bigger," Harris said. "Whenever you play at 210, you drop to probably 205 during the season. It's hard to maintain that weight. You're taking licks and you're taking shots. That's why I want to come in at 220 or go to camp at 225 and drop to 220 for opening day. You want to run the ball and be a threat rather than be a fragile guy in the backfield."

I'm ok with the idea of him being 210-215 during season. That would be a great size per his frame without losing anything and growing naturally.

I TGINK JHE'S A GOOD KID AND COULD BE A GREAT QUARTERBACK AND LEADER Now that I've gotten that put of the way...he needs to stop talking about being the leader and just go out there and actually lead. Real leaders don't talk about being leaders. They don't have to. They go out there and they just lead. If you're really the leader, people will be able to tell without you telling them.

Stop running the damned ball. You don't need to be dual threat.
