LSU offensive lineman Austin Deculus will be moving over to right tackle this week during practice, according to head coach Ed Orgeron.

Deculus, a 6-7, 321-pound sophomore, started the season as LSU's back up left guard behind Garrett Brumfield but will move back to his natural position to challenge Badara Traore for the starting right tackle spot while Adrian Magee is out with an injury.

As bad as Oline was at times and as little production in 2nd half as there was, should we give more credit that originally thought to the SLEA coaching staff playing keep away ? Plus so many starters out ?

Traore is talented as frick but is just lost out there at times. He actually played a decent game vs Miami so you have to wonder what's going on. The smallest thing can make these guys look like trash but they really aren't. He's quick, long and heavy. He's going to be very good by the end of the year and into next. By the end of the year I think LSUs OL will be playing its best football. They really are slowly building something special on the OL. It just takes time. The defense is there. It's Elite, ST's has made a huge jump from last year so really all we need is to keep recruiting studs on the OL which we are, at QB which we are, improve our RBs which we are and keep landing great WRs/TEs/FBs. Which we've been doing a decent job with. To anyone that actually believes that we didn't need an overhaul is kidding themselves. I didn't actually know how bad it was until I saw freshman starting over our veterans. The players we are now bringing in are on a different level. And we have depth all over that defense. If we keep that up while working on the offense from here on, it won't be long that LSU will be back in the post season as a top 5 team in the country. I think everyone can clearly see how talented we are and now that talent just needs some experience on offense while we keep rolling with this defense. Keep plugging the holes every year and we will never be lacking experience like before with the previous staff. Just keep recruiting and plugging away.

Moving from right guard to right tackle to challenge for the starting left tackle spot. This dude’s head must be spinning.

I believe the writer got it wrong. Deculus was the backup at left guard (not right guard) and is going to challenge for right tackle (not left tackle).

Right call. Deculus is a lot better than Traore.

From what I saw Traore was throwing lots of "lookout" blocks.
