LSU Lands Commitment From JUCU Offensive Guard Damien Lewis

Ed Orgeron and the LSU coaching staff landed a commitment from three-star Junior College offensive guard Damien Lewis on Sunday, according to Shea Dixon with 247Sports.

The 6-2, 320-pound prospect from Northwest Mississippi Community College is rated the No. 4 offensive guard in the JUCO ranks.

Lewis made his official visit to LSU this weekend for the Texas A&M game and gave his verbal pledge to coach Orgeron on Sunday.

If my post came off as demeaning to the kid, my bad. I congratulate him for this huge accomplishment. Making a commitment to play at a big time program is no small feat. Congrats to the young man and I hope for a great career at LSU.

It’s called depth, my friend. Something we didn’t have this year. The staff will geaux after the 4 and 5 star guys, but so will everyone else. We’ get some and lose some. That’s just life! But having a few top Juco guys on board is like having a good insurance policy. Protection when you need it most! And at 6’2” and 320lbs. I’ll take em all day long like that!
