LSU has hired former Rutgers co-defensive coordinator Bill Busch as the Tigers’ safeties coach, head coach Ed Orgeron announced Thursday. Per LSUSports.net:

Prior to his time at Rutgers, Busch served on the Ohio State defensive staff for three seasons. Busch also worked with LSU associate head coach/defensive coordinator Dave Aranda at Wisconsin where he coached safeties for two seasons and was also promoted to associate head coach.

“Bill is a consummate pro, who can scheme, coach technique and recruit. We are looking forward to getting him down here.” Aranda said. “On top of all of that, he is a great guy.”

Busch, a native of Pender, Nebraska, spent two different periods coaching at the University of Nebraska from 1990-93 and 2004-07. Between his stints in Lincoln with the Cornhuskers, Busch coached the secondary at Utah for three seasons, spending one season under Urban Meyer. He also coached defensive backs at New Mexico State for four years.

“It’s a huge honor and opportunity to coach at a place like LSU and in the Southeastern Conference,” Busch said. “Coach O is building something really special. It’s equally exciting to reunite with coach Aranda and work with coach Corey Raymond. I can’t wait to be a part of DBU.”

Sounds like this was a hand-pick by Aranda, so I'm sure it will add good value to the staff.

Guys as much as I hate the “O” hire he’s trying his arse off to build a staff so we can compete , but I see LSU’ season boiling down to being able to move the ball on offense . The D will be good

At least a hater who is honest and giving O a fair shake. I salute you.

I cant stand Orgeron and he HAS TO hire the best staff possible, because is an unqualified and incompetent head coach!

This might have done more good before we lost Goodrich and surtain.

Wouldn't of made a difference at all

Definitely would not have made a difference, orgeron ran off good rich away from Lsu and told him there were no spots left for him and then tries to get him to commit to Lsu the night before. When will he get his head out his arse and learn to coach and recruit? When? Can think of 15 different coaches much better hire than orgeron that would do well and at least try not to screw up the program

CL8100...are you retarded? He didn’t “run off” Goodrich. He was lied to by Surtain, and we had other positions to fill. Surtain was guaranteed. He lied. This is on him.
