When a coach has players who sacrifice their bodies, their flesh and commits themselves to the coaches system, they deserve to be treated better than how Chavis just treated them. LSU had the number 1 SEC defense because Chavis had talented players to coach. His lack of commitment to LSU's bowl game show's more about him as a human being than anything he has accomplished in sports. Totally unprofessional and classless. I've never been a fan of Chavis, not when he was at Tennessee and not while at LSU. His 2001 defense was arguably the most talented defense he has ever coached, and what changes did he make when Rohan was hurt and Matt went into the game? None. He has always, in my opinion, been overrated. The young men LSU put on the field on defense this year stepped up and played like champions. They are the reason Chavis can add 2014 SEC's Number 1 defense to his resume'. As fan's, Chavis owes us nothing, but those young men who made the sacrifices on and off the field for him, he owes a lot more than the manner in which he left. I had respect for Chavis as a person, simply because he has accomplished things most haven't, but now, I have as little respect for him as a man as I have for a coward who turns and runs from battle during war. When Desert Storm came, I knew many military members who went AWOL, I didn't, I stepped up and served my country. I may not have been the best soldier, but Chavis is one who would go hide like a coward.

We get a safety from the D and nothing from the O to win it in Death Valley

Love that they are being challenged. That's the fire that will make them angry and destroy teams next year

Love that attitude. LSU won't lie down for long. Defense needs to be hungry.

Chavis can get bent. He ducked out like a real punk and he's going to regret it in a couple of years.
