Longtime NFL Scout Greg Cosell revealed his evaluation of LSU quarterback Joe Burrow and said that his "poise and composure and a relaxed calmness" reminds him of future Hall Of Famer Tom Brady. Per SDS:
quote:

“Burrow profiles as a strong prospect with all the traits you look for in an NFL QB with the exception of higher level arm strength,” Cosell writes. “He plays with poise and composure and a relaxed calmness that reminded me of Tom Brady. Burrow showed the attributes to be consistently effective working from the pocket as a both a timing and rhythm thrower and as a late-in-the-down passer. Burrow was consistently precise with his ball placement on all the different throws and was aggressive with a turn-it-loose mentality when big play opportunities were presented, especially outside the numbers. What also stood out was his ability to make second reaction plays outside of structure both throwing and running when needed.

“Burrow consistently exhibited the needed traits to play consistently and effectively in the NFL: poise, vision, clarity, timing, pocket efficiency, precise ball placement (and) second reaction ability. Burrow is a high-level prospect with a chance to be an outstanding NFL QB, especially in a league now driven by timing and rhythm passing games and quicker 3 and 5 step drop concepts.”

If Joe Burrow is a pinpoint passer and can make all of the throws, then why would he need a stronger arm?

Wasn't there some crazy stat that Burrow had either a higher completion percentage or higher QBR under pressure than without pressure? Maybe it was just for the playoffs, but a wild stat regardless.

the most shocking thing i got from that: "Burrow with 548 drop backs in 2019, 540 ca came out of the shotgun". SO....we had 8 drop back passes from under center?* Anybody remember any of those?

Probably goal line and short yardage play action deals.

Let's see how well he does without a dominant offensive line. JB will probably be 1st pick for a dumpster fire NFL team, and he'll get demolished like Archie Manning did.

Sometimes I just think they have to make up some weaknesses for Joe to justify their jobs. It’s funny to read honestly makes you roll your eyes. I get the velocity thing but never would be a concern for me that’s for sure.
