Les Miles Says Cam Cameron & Dave Aranda Will Be On Sideline During Games

Good. Probably best way to start the season.

I think Cam should be. Honestly don't know about Aranda though, is he usualy a sideline guy? Seems like he'd be a booth guy.

Aranda was on the sideline for Wisconsin. He gets hyped just like coach O.

So yesterday someone tried to convince me that Samaj Perine was a more talented back than LF7...

Aranda has done both. Said in his opening presser he liked being on the field to look in his guys eyes and know what they need. Being in the booth gives a great view of the field and see more of whats happening. Obviously I am paraphrasing. I want to know who is going to be in the booth

Look at the top programs with animated coaches on the sidelines, high-energy, getting the plays and subs in on time, throwing high fives and headsets. From all those field trips to winning up-Tempo, RPO (run-pass-option) spread programs like CLEM, ALA, HOU, TCU, BAY, OM, OSU we SHOULD see a shotgun, Up-Tempo, multiple spread attack opening the field for passing, running, and the QB option. We have not spread any opposing defenses or put them on their heels with tempo. The slowest, least spread, most predictable program in the FBS does not work in November. ALA had 2 D units on the field waiting to see which play we called. Harris playing from the shotgun as a FR led the highest scoring O in Points/Min in the nation. Then it was relapse to SOS at AUB. If Harris changed places with Watson he would be every bit as good or better. It is the scheme; surely they learned that from the imaginary field trips.

Cam C. Usually called plays from field when he was with Ravens. I knew Aranda was field DC as well.

I like Aranda on the sidelines, but I'd rather Cam in the booth. I want him to be able to see the entire field so he can better identify weaknesses in opposing defenses and call plays to exploit those weaknesses. That's just me tho...

The thing is, being on the field with the players has no substitute. Technology is at a point where Cam and Aranda can see the entire field within seconds of a play. I get that it may be too late to be useful on the immediately following play, but that's a small price to pay for being down there in the arena with your men.

Good. Now if we can just keep Les in the locker room during the games the sky is the limit.
