Pretty classy move of Les to play up Alleva in making the hire just a few short weeks after Alleva tried to hang him out to dry.

I have not had much faith in Miles or Alleva lately, but it's somewhat refreshing to see them appearing to get on the same page. This is a great thing for LSU.

Aranda turned down that Miles clause, but really wanted to be here. Glad Alleva dropped that.

Schwartzy, you are 100% correct. Steele left in a respectable way and LSU handled the departure well, and made a homerun hire. So I join you in thanking Steele for the way he handled the departure, and I wish him all the best in the future, except for when he faces LSU of course.

I bet the "Miles Clause" played a lot into last year.

@jdrn21 And you don't think that was contributed because of the poor QB play? Even BH showed up fir a series and got sacked. I am not saying that Wisky defense was bad, but it had more to do with our shitty offense!!

"“That defense was the toughest to go against...."
You gotta be kidding me!!"

It's a pretty easy concept, the defense itself (scheme, play calls) was the toughest to go against. That does not mean that the talent level translates.

Ever heard of pound for pound best fighter? Same concept. But that does not mean a 140lb dude is going to stand a chance against a heavyweight.

It's a testament to how Coach Aranda was able to have great success with a bunch of JUCO transfers and such at Utah State.

My thread was anchored, but I still wanted to thank Steele for showing class and coaching this bowl game without letting his news of leaving become a distraction for the team. This was handled much better than Chavis.
