During an appearance on ESPN's "College Football Live" on Monday, LSU head coach Les Miles said that he expects suspended quarterback Anthony Jennings to return to the team and compete with sophomore Brandon Harris for the starting QB position. Per The Advocate:
quote:

“We anticipate there will be a very positive outcome there with Anthony Jennings, and we expect there to be competition,” Miles said.

East Baton Rouge District Attorney Hillar Moore said Monday that charges against Jennings and three other LSU players have not been dropped and that authorities are reviewing the case. Moore said he’s “not sure” when a resolution will come.
Jennings was arrested back in June along with teammates Dwayne Thomas and Maquedius Bain for unauthorized entry into a dwelling.

The "authorities" should take their jolly-a** time. Stagger their vacations in early August so as little as possible can get done in finding a "resolution."

If Les Miles starts Jennings he needs to be fired.

@whoisnickdoobs - no, I mean the JL/JJ incident that made LSU go from being unstoppable to limping through the rest of the season and getting the shite kicked out of them in the MNC game by our most hated rival because we had an inept QB whom Miles REFUSED TO BENCH. Fullback dive, FTW!!!!!

Maybe miles just doesn't want to throw a player under the bus that really didn't do anything of significance and still isn't even sure if he will be charged. I think Harris should start because he is better, but give aj the benefit of the doubt. He has been a model person up to this point, even if he has sucked on the field.

Perhaps the prosecution of this legal issue can take that bat out of Mile's hands[?].

I can't help but think if this had been Brandon there would be zero chance he plays now... This is kind of bull shite and a slap in the face to all the kids putting themselves in the right spots to succeed.

After watching Anthony Jennings last year, it amazes me that there are people on here that still think he is better than Harris.

@blueboy you mean the JL/JJ incident that caused us to go undefeated in the regular season, win the SEC championship & go to the National Championship? Yeah Les should be fired if he does that again.

If another JL/JJ incident occurs, I think it will be time for Miles to go. That was like giving a retarded kid the keys to your Ferrari.

For those of you who dont remember the JJ and JL debacle. JL was producing some of the better QB play that LSU fans had seen in a while... JJ came back an d we sucked again. This is the same Les Miles. AJ will get the start when he returns. He never lost the starting job... it just has a want to wait for his return.

Harris is a fluid passer, he reminds me of Randall Cunningham. With the increase in reps and time with the wide outs this summer I think he'll fell more comfortable waiting on those timing routes to develope. I look for him to be in the top 5 of the SEC in pass efficiency if he can hit that mark with an anticipated strong run game that LSU should have. Look for these Tigers to be back on top of the conference.

"if jennings is suspended the entire fall and still finds a way to start over harris, I don't think that will sit well with a lot of fans."

@monsterballads

Yeah. We've seen how much that matters to CLM.
