Former LSU star running back and current Jacksonville Jaguars rookie scored his first professional touchdown on Thursday night.

Fournette, the No. 4 overall pick in the Draft, rushed for 31 yards on nine carries and scored on a 1-yard touchdown run.

After the game, the New Orleans native said the speed on the field was "slower" than he thought it would be and that it "was really easy." Per ESPN:
quote:

"It's a lot slower than I really thought," Fournette told NFL.com after the Jaguars' 31-24 victory over the New England Patriots on Thursday night. "That's how I've been since I first got into the NFL. A lot of people were like, 'It's going to be fast.' But by me playing in the SEC, that kind of helped me a lot.

"I think, to me, it was really easy."

All is he saying is the transition was easy LOL

Comments really taken out of context. Meant playing in the SEC prepared him for the speed and made it not as big of a jump than it would've been. Dying media will do anything to create drama.

The title of this article is completely misstated. It's not at all what he said... With all the preparation and advice, it was 'Slower and easier than he really thought it would be'. Respectable...

We're talking about practice, Leonard.

Y'all realize he meant it was an easier transition than he thought, not that the NFL is easy. Use some context folks.

Context doesn't fit the narrative. #fakenews

Way to take what he said completely out of context

Come on Leonard...don't give anyone a reason to put a bullseye on your back. It's only preseason. Come regular season, you will be working for every yard.

Or his knees.

Careful what u say, buga! Pretty soon you'll have the likes of Matthews, Keuchle, and JJ squaring up on you instead of preseason scrubs. If u ain't careful, you'll get kilt! Them crazy boys take comments like that personal... and they don't forget.

Good lord. He obviously is talking about the transition from the SEC to the NFL has been easy due to the competition he faced. Non-story

Obviously he meant the transition was easier than what he was expecting due to playing in the SEC

9 carries for 31 yards ain't good Leonard. How easy was it?

both drives he was in, they scored. On his first drive he was given the ball 4 times in a row, and made a first down. On this play, he was given the ball 3 times in a row, and scored. Not sure what else you could ask of him in the snaps he played.

Some tards are going to take it as he said that the NFL is slow compared to the SEC which is not at all what he is saying. You know some defensive dude is going to try and light him up now just so he can say "how slow is it now?"

What a stupid thing for a rookie to say. Then again, why am I not surprised....

Just leave out the fricking part where the writer tells you what the question was. frick context right? "No issue at all in the eyes of his head coach. But Fournette, who finished with 31 yards and a touchdown on nine carries, was more to the point when I asked him about the ever-present belief that it takes rookies time to adjust to the speed of the NFL."

It looks like he got smaller. Wonder why?
