It was announced Monday that LSU running back Leonard Fournette and center Ethan Pocic were named SEC players of the week for their dominant performances against Mississippi State on Saturday night. Per SECSports.com:

OFFENSE
LSU Tigers Leonard Fournette, RB, LSU

• Rushed for 159 yards and 3 TDs on a career-high 28 carries in leading LSU to a 21-19 win over 25th-ranked Mississippi State in what was the first game of the year for the Tigers.
• Averaged 5.7 yards a carry ... His 28 carries were the most by a LSU player in a season-opener since 1985 when Dalton Hilliard had 31 carries for 148 yards in win over North Carolina ... 99 of his 159 yards came in second half.
• Scored on runs of 1, 26 and 18 yards to account of all of LSU's offensive points ... It was his 6th 100-yard rushing game of his 14-game career and the third straight dating back to last year ... LSU is 5-1 when Fournette rushes for 100 or more yards.

LSU Tigers Ethan Pocic, C, LSU

• Played all but one offensive snap (60 of 61) in LSU's 21-19 and graded out the best among all Tiger offensive linemen at 92%.
• Had career-high 16 knockdown blocks and didn't allow a sack or a pressure ... Helped pave the way for LSU offense that racked up 266 rushing yards and 3 rushing TDs ... LSU averaged 5.7 yards per rush.
• Led offensive line that also blocked for Leonard Fournette, who went over the 100-yard mark for sixth time in career ... Pocic has started 14 games during his career and LSU has had a 100-yard rusher in 9 of those games.
