Brett Rojo-USA TODAY Sports
During his post-national signing day press conference on Wednesday, LSU head coach was asked about cornerback Kristian Fulton who's status with the team is uncertain.

Fulton was rated a 5-star prospect and the No. 3 overall cornerback in the country for the class of 2016 when he signed with the Tigers out of Archbishop Rummel HS in Metairie, La.

An injury caused him to miss most of his freshman season and he did not play in 2017 because of off-the-field issues.

When asked about his status, Orgeron said it's "still up in the air." Per The Advocate:
quote:

Fulton, the No. 1-ranked player in the state in the 2016 signing class, did not play in 2017 because of off-the-field issues. He used a redshirt year.

“We’re going to have to see what happens with Kristian,” Orgeron said when asked. “That’s still up in the air.”
The Tigers missed out on two cornerbacks on National Signing day and lose Donte Jackson and Kevin Toliver to the NFL Draft. Orgeron said he plans to move safety signee Kelvin Joseph over to cornerback to add depth the position.

Hopefully, Fulton's situation gets worked out and he can join the secondary on the field next season.

Kid hates it at lsu. Wanted to go to Arkansas buyer his parents make the decision for him.

If I remember right, his dad wanted him at LSU, but he was torn between another school. As an LSU fan, we need him here, but If I were him, I'd look out for myself. Transfer now to JUCO or another school. At the very least you get two years to showcase yourself if you leave now. Whether he's at fault for something stupid or not, he needs to look out for himself now.

Is this the fricking idiot board?

Can we find a fricking coach? Let O recruit if that’s his thing. He can’t do both.

Appears he can't do either... and I am not a O basher. I want to give him a fair chance.

I wish all this unfortunate fortuitous shite would at LEAST spread itself out instead of decimating the entirety of one entire unit of the team. You know, instead of almost the entire O and D lines last year and now cornerbacks this year, maybe a longsnapper and safety, or running back and linebacker.

I'm ready for this shite to be over.

After adding 4 WRs yesterday and no CBs, we now have 22 WRs and 4 CBs including Fulton. Speaks for itself. Positions of need my arse.

Hey idiot! We missed out on some CB's that we thought we had in the bag. He didn't go after all the WR's and no CB's.

To be clear, I just laid out some facts because I actually pay attention. We "missed" on one we thought we had in the bag. They hadn't talked to Goodrich since before the early signing in December. When you have 18 returning WRs and 4 CBs with one of those in question, you need to actually recruit CBs and likely more than two or really one, in this case. He obviously had no back up or hadn't tried recruiting any others, just check the offer lists from some that we may have had a shot with. TCU took one from LA, Bama took one from Slidell and even Kansas came in and grabbed on from O's own backyard. Kansas? Are you kidding? Although they may not be NFL draft picks one day, it's depth and beats having two open scholarships and no CBs. I state facts, but I'm an idiot. Whatever

Coach o’s job status is also “up in the air”.
Reply3 months
O needs to get it out of the air, we hardly have depth at DB

Hate to be another one of those guys who brings up Saban’s name but there would be no “up in the air” under his leadership. If he’s healthy and can valuably contribute you find a way to use that value. Only acceptable obstacle is if Fulton is trying to leave the program.

Wth does up in the air even mean!! Either the kid is gonna play or not. Stop bullshiteting with the fans and let us know the real deal.

Ummm, kind of $h!t the bed on cornerbacks yesterday, Gumb-O. May want to not eff with Fulton anymore before he transfers to JUCO then Alabama to help end your tenure as head coach.

Better get him on the ground Gumbo

Y'all four shortsighted geniuses are bringing stupid to another level. Y'all are pathetic to bang on Coach O about the Fulton situation. What if this is a personal matter that the kid needs guidance and support to get through it. Then once he has some stability off the field he comes in and goes beastmode for two years and helps us win some games. But in y'all mind because Coach O doesn't do it like saban would it's our coaches fault. The situation that Fulton is in OFF THE FIELD is probably more important to his well being than anything on the field. And for the record, our coach doesn't have to explain to us all the details. It's none of our business.
