LSU sophomore linebacker Kendell Beckwith was named the SEC Defensive Player of the week on Monday. Per SECSports.com:

Kendell Beckwith, LB, LSU
• Led the team and shattered his career high with 10 tackles in LSU's 10-7 win over No. 3 Ole Miss.
• Had one tackle for a loss and added one pass breakup and one quarterback hurry in LSU's outstanding defensive performance.
• Made a key tackle on 4th-and-1 at the LSU 47-yard line to stop Ole Miss' ensuing drive after LSU took the lead late in the fourth quarter.
• LSU held Ole Miss to season lows in points (7), total yards (313) and passing yards (176).
