Last week on ESPN College Gameday, Kirk Herbstreit shared some very kind words for LSU running back John Emery Jr., who suffered a season-ending ACL injury last week in practice.

I know Herbie gets a lot of heat on this site, but he is one of the best for cfb and that was a class move.

Kirk is a class act. The fact that the rant hates him means he's doing his job. Very Well!

Herbie always supports the Tigers, whether it is as a team or individual players!

I remember Herb used to be all in on USC in the early 2000s. He even picked Bama to beat us in 2019. He has been swinging towards LSU and the SEC the last few years tho.

Have we seen the last of John Emery in an LSU uniform? I sure hope not.

I’m afraid so…time for this young man to save what is left of his health. He will always be a great Tiger…but I want him to be able to walk when he gets older, too.

Focusing on a successful recovery to play again at a high level is the best approach. Hanging up the cleats could be the worse outcome if it leads to a a recovery that's less than 100%.

John Emery is already a winner in the game of life. Those runs in game 1 were so fun to watch. Hang in there young man, good will somehow come out of this adversity.

John's perseverance and humility have made him one of my favorite all time Tigers.
