COLUMBIA, MO – In a back-and-fourth offensive affiar, it was key plays on the defensive side for LSU that allowed the No. 23 Tigers to leave with a 49-39 win over No. 21 Missouri on Saturday at Faurot Field.

With 41 seconds to play, senior safety Major Burns intercepted Missouri quarterback Brady Cook and returned it 17 yards for a touchdown to seal the victory for LSU.

It marked the first pick-6 by a Tiger since Quad Wilson in the Cheez-It Bowl (99 yards); first in a regular-season game since Micah Baskerville vs. Southern on 9/10/22 (29 yards).

LSU returns to Tiger Stadium next Saturday against Auburn for a 6 p.m. or 6:30 p.m. kickoff on either ESPN or the SEC Network.

Well we did ask for the D to get just a few stops and the offense would do rest. That's exactly what they did. Now 1 road game left all season, let's see if some home cooked wins can't solidify some consistency on D. Great win boys

Hope he’s OK. Played his heart out while clearly injured.

"Dude, Arnadas 19 defense never broke. Like, never."

I was at the Ole Miss game. John Rhys Plumlee ran all over Amanda's defense. It was historically embarrassing (at least until Pelini, and now House)

Correct. That year was shaky at times. Auburn, Florida - those games were definitely up for play in the 4th quarter. It wasn't like it was at the end of the year all year.

(That said, that defense was never even close to as bad as last week.)

D sux still. Terrible. They better start playing better because the offense cannot keep holding them together.

49-39
Still defenseless. Starting with Aranda in ‘’19, then worse under Pelini in ‘20, Jones in ‘21 & now House. One thing about Miles defense was consistently good

Aranda in 19. Haha, you’re a clown.

In ‘19 LSU gave more points & yards in the 21st century. It was at a Curly Hallman pace. LSU offense & special teams were at an unprecedented pace to exceed all other LSU history
