Former LSU wide receiver Ja'Marr Chase is currently navigating contract talks with the Bengals as he is looking for an extension heading into the final year of his rookie deal.

On Friday, Chase was asked if the reports were true that he wants one penny more than his former LSU teammate Justin Jefferson, who recently signed a four-year, $140 million deal.

Replaced him with Nabers for week one. Way too much drama.

Well you'd be taking a huge gamble playing him anyway, with his injury status.

Apparently signing a contract doesn’t have the same meaning it once had. I could see if he had 1 year left but it’s 2, players use to go out and prove it this season — creates a toxic precedent.

The owners and agents have created this environment.

Getting paid is based on production not on potential. JJ's at the top, rightfully so.

Yep, they all get paid top dollar... but what happens when they have a mediocre year? I bet they don't pay any money back, LOL.

This is a bad look for Ja'Marr. He has 2 years left on his rookie contract. He should not be looking for Justin Jefferson money, because to this point in his career he has not performed like Justin Jefferson. He should have the mindset that he is going to go prove it this year that he deserves that kind of money. Sitting out his junior year at LSU and now talking about sitting out games in the NFL with 2 years left on his contract is making him harder to root for.

He definitely gives off more OBJ vibes than Jarvis Landry vibes. Money and his selfish interests are clearly more important to him than his team and his career goals. Honestly I'd call his bluff if I were the Bengals. Paying a player with this kind of attitude usually blows up in your face.

No team has ever won a Super Bowl by over paying for a top receiver.

Hey Bengals.

Don't be stupid. Pay the man.
