I think he's saying this based on last coaching regime. No other reason for him to say it. Maybe last regime wanted to win, but maybe they wanted to play a style of football rather than play to win. It was evident after a few losses that the previous regime could've made a few decisions to result in a W but failed to do so. I think he's speaking more in terms that he's will to do what it takes to win.

I am thrilled to here the offense is installed and everyone has got it down cold. Learning a complex system can be difficult, especially for incoming freshmen. I trust the staff to adjust accordingly from game to game, as well as in game adjustments. Something the previous regime really struggled with. Very excited for this young team, and eagerly awaiting September 2 and BYU!
