During the Always College Football podcast this week, host Greg McElroy debated the future matchup between LSU and Alabama next season.

McElroy said that both teams are neck-and-neck but would maybe give Alabama the slight edge since they will host the Tigers in Tuscaloosa.

Sounds like a reasonable projection to me. We have no idea how good either team will be. The transfer portal adds a whole other level of complication to this prediction.

"would give Alabama the edge since they will host the Tigers in Tuscaloosa" Fair for literally any other series of two evenly matched teams. Except LSU does better in Tuscaloosa than in Tiger Stadium.

GMac has picked LSU to beat Alabama almost every year he has been in broadcasting.

G Mac is alright in my book

He's put in his time. Half this year he covered LSU and always did it with respect.

I like McElroy, but I can not stand Joe Tessitore.

LSU has closed the gap some, mainly because Bama is losing serious star power to the NFL. Would love another Tiger road win in Tuscaloosa

Bama is our one regular season loss next year. 11-1 is dang good.

The road team typically has the advantage in this series. LSU doesn't win in Tuscaloosa like the Tide does in Baton Rouge, but they're better at Alabama than they are at home.

LSU has the better QB this year, so back to back loses for the Tide

Always liked Greg. He may be a bit of a perfect Robot at times in his delivery but he shoots it straight

I cringe when I hear his whiney voice doing color for a game.

If I didn't know better I would think McElroy played QB at SMU or something. No bias, does a great job. I've become a fan.

He’s correct here. It’s going to come down to the wire and it’s going to depend on how well Kelly can get our guys focused in a hostile environment.

Greg, come back down off the ledge. It's dangerous way out there.

Mc has become less biased the last several years. He still has that gump in him at times. He's actually become a pretty analyst lately when he calls an LSU game.

Since he’s so pretty, how would the OT rank?

Average at best.

If anything he goes too far to try and prove he isn’t biased

There was no bias in that. He said neck and neck, maybe a slight edge to Bama for having home field advantage. If they both go into that game undefeated, the spread will be close with an edge to Bama simply for being home.

This is where we are.... basically equal...3 points difference all because the home team will be favored
