LSU freshman Ray Parker has apparently made the switch from offense to defense.

Parker, a former four-star offensive tackle/tight end from Ruston, LA practiced at defensive end this week. He is listed at 6'5, 233-pounds on LSU's roster.

The idea switch positions actually came from Parker, according to head coach Ed Orgeron.

I’m all for getting every big athletic guy in Louisiana to sign with LSU and let them play any position they want. Can’t coach size and these guys excel at multiple spots.

Ray, just go to your natural position which is O line and fulfill your destiny of the baddest lineman in the SEC.

Well, he's not playing OT at 233. That's for sure. Would need to add, at a minimum, 60-70 pounds. Unless he's 50 years old, that's not so easy.

The center we just signed was 230 when he got on campus. Try again.

Also do you think he’s gonna play DE in a 3-4 at 230?

Maybe he’ll be great but this kid had legit All-SEC potential at OT. Maybe he just really doesn’t want to play there

Orgeron was raving about rosenthal at Tackle at the beginning of camp.

Rosenthall is a redshirt freshman. Sorry he hasn’t won the job yet. In the SEC it takes a while to be game ready on the OLine
