LSU true freshman quarterback Lowell Narcisse will likely redshirt this season, according to head coach Ed Orgeron. Per The Advocate:
quote:

"We think we will redshirt him. We think that’s it would be beneficial for him," Orgeron said. "He’s been simulating the offenses that we’re playing. I think he’s going to be an excellent player. Really like him. He’s fast, in command when he’s running the zone-read, dual-threat offense. I think he’s going to be a great quarterback for us."
Narcisse, a highly recruited dual-threat quarterback from Saint James, LA, has been used as the scout team QB for the past few weeks. He did not travel with the team to Starkville last week.

Ideally Brennan leaves after his Junior year (meaning he was good in college) giving us two with Narcisse...

Ideally, we sign 1 decent SEC quality QB a year.... cant skip two years then sign 2. One will leave then we screwed.

That is the ideal plan.

That would be awesome! I hope it works out that way. I think changing the offense to suit your qb's also keeps your offense from getting stagnant!

In todays atmosphere, theres no way both Brennan and Narcisse stay their entire career at LSU. I wish that wasnt true, but I just dont see it.

competition is the best way to get the best performer on the field

True statement. Only bad part is I have a feeling Lowell may want to try his luck sooner than most people want him too. By the way, what high school did you attend? I'm from those parts too.

This reminds me of the Tim Tebow Cam Newton days at Flordia . I'm telling you Lowell is he type of QB you need to beat Bama a pocket passer one dimensional guy will never be successful .

Hope we keep him. As good as he is, I just don't see him waiting behind Brennan until he's a senior to start.

Well I certainly don't see anyone starting over Brennan starting next year.

This kid will probably transfer. Hate it for us, but understand it for him.

And on the gridiron!

There will probably be a package in the offense for him by next year even if he doesn't win the competition for starter

Competition????? Lmao!!!

There won't be a competition. They have already made Brennan the QB in waiting. Narcisse redshirting makes no sense. Brennan has seen time before McMillian in a blowout game vs Chattanooga. It's why Scott left. For some reason or another they have hitched their wagons to Brennan. Remember that bullshite he stated last year about only wanting pocket passers? Sure weeks later after losses to UF and Bama he started talking about wanting dual threats, but it was really just for recruiting purposes and keeping guys on the team (all three of his backups were dual threats). O is such a flippin' joke and all these idiots fell for his local boy act.

Having two excellent QBs is a great problem to have; the problem is, only one can play. Lowell isn't gonna sit three years waiting for his opportunity. Wouldn't be surprised to see him end up wherever Les Miles lands (Nebraska)?

What makes you think Les is going to land anywhere? He interviewed for the Houston job, the Baylor job and I believe a couple of others like Minnesota and didn't get any.

I hope not, for his sake. I really don't see Miles landing anywhere other than television. Too many teams passed on him this offseason. Maybe a Division II school, but that's about it.

No reason to redshirt him. No way in hell he stays his for more than three years. Of course we do have to luxury to redshirt him, but I'd rather see him and Brennan get snaps this year.

He is not going be there that long and Etling will not beat a team like Bama, it's Les 2. Good Lord. Jumbo Fisher said just the other day that most of these kids are trying to get to the NFL so you've got to play them as Freshman and get every year that you can out of them

It's brilliant to redshirt a 5 star recruit. They always need that extra year of eligibility. O is terrible.
user avatar
CreoleKid2479 months
HMMM....a 5 star recruit coming off TWO ACL repairs in 3 yrs is gonna get redshirted. Yeah, it might be a good idea to get an extra year in to fully heal, get stronger, an get some scout team snaps instead of wasting it when he's playing behind a Sr QB and a Fresh back up. Your stupid arse post is what's terrible!

Change your tampon bruh. You're leaking.

LuzianaFootball79 months
The reasoning to redshirt him because he's needs to heal his knees is BS. If something is going to happen to him, it's just going to happen. Medicine is not what it use to be. That's just an excuse to play your "favorite" and keep LN as a comforting backup while the young man may actually want to get on the field before 4 years from now.

Too many promises made to Brennan and his handlers. Transfer now Lowell. See Lindsey Scott Jr. Amazing how he couldn't sniff the field here then immediately transfers and puts up 4 hundred and some odd yards in the air.

Don't let the fact that he did it at a JUNIOR COLLEGE skew your facts any. Genius.

Juco or not! That's better than sitting on thw pine signaling plays at a program thats developing another guy in the same class as you. Scott has offers waiting in december. Smart move. Get some reps in 2017. Win a juco natty. Move on to your new school in January. Btw, one of the JUCOs he's lit up, has 4 SEC transfees on the squad including, Savion Smith. Lowell, go get on the field. You dont get these years back. Cam Newton went to JUCO one year. One a natty. Then Auburn and did it again. LSU wants to continue to play 1950s ball
