Free agent running back Leonard Fournette signed with the Buffalo Bills practice squad on Monday.

The former LSU star last played with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers but was released before the 2023 season started.

He joins a Bills running back room that just lost Damien Harris to the injured reserve list and features James Cook, Latavius Murray, and Ty Johnson.

Average career span for a running back in the NFL is 2.57 years.

Wow! Y'all do realized that the only reason he is on the practice squad is because he needs a couple of weeks to get the playbook down. Once he gets the playbook down, they'll move him up to the active roster. All teams do this when players are brought in during the season. this wasn't some last ditched effort to make a roster. He waited for the right deal. And he probably got more money now than he would have if he signed in the offseason. Because now his services is a need, not a want.

Tampa Bay underpaid the man when he was there, and former head coach Bruce Arians actually tried to get rid of him when he was first there telling Fournette "he just didn't have it". LOL I mean are you serious, that really lit a fire under Fournette and he showed you what he had in those playoff games and the Superbowl when he became "Playoff Lenny".LOL After that they should have signed him to a good deal after that, but chose not to for whatever damn reasons, so, Fournette said "See ya".

I sure thought he would be better than Nick Chubb.

Well, I hear you on that! But he messed up his Jacksonville career by not taking it(the NFL) serious when those people drafted him, and he just "imo" screwed them people over by not playing like he was capable of. He didn't run hard for those people at all, and maybe had 1 or 2 seasons there over a 1000 yards out of all the time he was there. He then goes to Tampa Bay and it takes those comments by Bruce Arian for him to start running like "LSU Leonard Fournette" because he was loafing with them too when he was there. So, if he would have taken his career with Jacksonville much more seriously he probably would have had a career as good or better than NIck Chubb and would still be with Jacksonville.

Hope he gets in shape and trims up. If he does, he’s gonna be a good back again.

He played in 80 games over six years and has a Super Bowl ring. I could name a metric shite ton of running bags that would love to have his NFL career.

Time for Leonard to hang up his spurs and relax for a change. He has been a great ambassador for LSU throughout his career!

Future first ballot hall of famer prior to entering the NFL to practice squad player. It's a different level of competition in the NFL.
