LSU offensive lineman Saahdiq Charles, linebacker K'Lavon Chaisson, defensive back Andraez "Greedy" Williams, and punter Zach Von Rosenberg have all been named to the 2017 Coaches’ Freshman All-SEC team, which was announced on Thursday.

This is the most LSU players named the All-SEC Freshman team since 2014 with Malachi Dupre, Leonard Fournette (RB & AP), and Jamal Adams. Per LSUSports.net:

Williams was a standout as one of LSU's lockdown corners. The Shreveport, Louisiana, native led the league in both passes defended with 15 and interceptions with four.

Charles totaled seven starts on the offensive line and helped pave the way for running back standouts Derrius Guice and Darrel Williams. Guice totaled 1,000 yards on the ground for the second straight year and Williams finished with more than 700.

Chaisson totaled 25 tackles at outside linebacker for the Tigers this season. He also added 4.5 tackles for loss and a pair of sacks.

Von Rosenberg was an outstanding asset for the Tigers in special teams. The 27-year-old former professional pitcher averaged 43.3 yards per punt on the year. Von Rosenberg was named the SEC Specialist of the Week following his performance at Alabama when he boomed five punts for 246 yards, including one for a career-long 60 yards.

Apparently Greedy is so good he picked off one of the 5 interceptions he got this year before they put it in his stat line.

I can understand Greedy and Charles but Chaisson is a bit of a head-scratcher like Key was for the SEC 1st team. Chaisson had a decent freshman year but he wasn't a maniac or anything. Still good to see these guys getting noticed and you can tell their ceiling is high.

Must have not been a banner year at that position for freshman in the SEC. Still, all are deserving and will be back next year!
