LSU backup quarterback Myles Brennan put an end to any doubt that he could be leaving the program this week by announcing that he is not transferring via Twitter.

Brennan, a sophomore from Long Beach, Mississippi, is expected to start at quarterback next season for the Tigers after Joe Burrow heads to the NFL.

Brennan has played in three games for the Tigers this season and missed two practices this week. Head coach Ed Orgeron said that Brennan would be "OK."

I didn't know him transferring was a topic.

The transferring topic itself a hot topic in college this year. Look at the kids shutting it down the last couple years just because they arent starting. I mean our starting quarterback did that. He is just reassuring he isnt backing out.

I believe I speak for the entire LSU fanbase when I say we are very optimistic about Brennan being the starting QB next season. Him leaving would be detrimental to the team that is being built.

Would love to see him succeed but don’t think he will be the starter next year.

You don't speak for no one

It won’t be a true freshman, at least not to start so I dont see who else it could be. Parrish is obviously behind him. Could be a transfer I guess. Would need to happen after we sign these QBs though

He appears to be the starter next year. Why would he transfer.
user avatar
atltiger648776 months
why? If Brennan’s not up to the job, like in spring 2018, O will go out looking for a transfer, like he did with Burrow.

NEVER thought he was transferring. Just glad he is healthy and getting some rest.

Were people really wondering this? He stuck around this long and is the heir apparent next year. It's not like he would've expected to be the starter this year. He could've missed the practice for a million reasons

There was a select group still shitting on Burrow before this season started...people will hate on this dude until he shuts them up. I personally think he’s going to be sufficient next year and an all star in his senior season.

Don’t forget that every showing he’s had in games this season, he’s been surrounded by second team players. Anyone who doesn’t trust their OL is going to have happy feet.

something to be said for this kid waiting his turn.

Unless DJ is about to commit, why even entertain the thought of transferring? This system is a QB’s dream.

Or Bryce Young. Those are the only two guys I think could legit challenge him year one.

Just enjoy the Burrow ride boys...this QB is special and we'll look back at him as one of our best ever.

I hope he can be like Steve Young following Joe Montana. That ain't bad.

Young was 100x the QB Brennan is. Get real.

My heart skipped a beat when I initially read the headline, I thought it said he announced that he is transferring.

Non topic

If he were to transfer he would not have been eligible until next season anyway. If he stays he will be the starter here next season.

Pick 6. They don't exist.

"don’t see myself doing so". Nobody does until they don't get the nod. He doesn't have to worry unless we get a transfer.

I think he'll be the starter next year, but the question is how long he'll REMAIN the starter.

After a full offseasons training with the first team, and then playing with them, I expect him to easily hold on to the 1 spot. He's a special player, he just hasn't had enough time getting first team reps to show us.
