Florida State linebacker Amari Gainer will likely be out for Sunday's game vs. LSU after suffering a lower-leg injury against Duquesne last week, head coach Mike Norvell revealed on Tuesday.

Gainer entered the season as FSU’s active career leader in tackles with 193. He was a reserve on Saturday and figures to be in a rotational role through the season, with his highest value coming as a near-line-of-scrimmage linebacker in subsets when FSU goes to its 4-3 personnel.

One disadvantage of having to play a week 0 game when your week 1 opponent doesn't. LSU will be closer to full strength than FSU.

It sounds like he hasn’t been healthy but there trying to get him on field as best they can. That indicates a lack of quality depth.
