Florida quarterback Luke Del Rio is expecting to play this week and return on Saturday vs. LSU, according to Gators' head coach Jim McElwain who spoke to the media Monday. Per NOLA.com:
quote:

"Luke Del Rio, he'll go some today, more tomorrow and Wednesday, and we'll see exactly where and how much that swells, where the pain is and where the stability is," McElwain said. "He'll get some reps with the ones, obviously Austin (Appleby) will and that will be something we'll decide later in the week.

"This is something I know Luke had been targeting a little bit, so his mindset is he's going to play. That's good. That's what you want, but know this: I won't put him out there (if he's not ready)."

Until about halfway through the first drive when he meets Arden Key for a loss. I suspect that will be the end of the playing expectation.

I'm really excited about this game - if we are 5-2 heading into Ole Miss it will seem like everything is somehow possible once again.
