Tim Heitman-USA TODAY Sports
Paul Myerberg with USA TODAY Sports put together a list of his Top 5 College Football Playoff darkhorses and LSU was No. 2 Here is what the had to say:
quote:

2. LSU
After another round of offseason losses to the NFL, the Tigers will look to reload behind a changed cast of characters. All LSU does is reload, however, and rarely misses a beat in the chase for the national championship. Though Alabama, South Carolina and Auburn are the early favorites in the Southeastern Conference, LSU is very much in the conversation.
Complete Top 5:

1. Stanford
2. LSU
3. Marshall
4. Kansas State
5. Clemson

Marshall better win all their games by 4 or more touchdowns to deserve going.

Agree that the committee could feel some pressure to include an undefeated mid-major team in the playoff. Hopefully, that team gets destroyed and it never happens again after that.

Marshall has a very favorable schedule this year and is almost expected to be undefeated. So if the committee wanted to make a big splash first year its their best option.

When it's play off time lets talk about the teams in it. Until then, all this talk is just hot air and BS. Blah blah blah.
