Per LSUSports.net: BATON ROUGE -- LSU had five touchdown drives of three plays or less, as the quick-strike Tigers shook off an unexpected week of rust to defeat Southern Miss, 45-10, on Saturday in Tiger Stadium.

LSU quarterback Danny Etling connected on touchdown passes of 80 and 63 yards, while running back Derrius Guice had touchdown runs of 61 and 20 yards in a 28-point third-quarter outburst that ended the Eagles' upset bid.

I heard they wanted it to be close in the 1st half just see how many folks would show up in the 2nd half...

Very sloppy first half by the Tigers. Penalties, rust, seemed like a lack of motivation. The way coach O got these guys to turn it around in the second half was more impressive than anything we did against Missouri.

Screw Ole Miss. Hell LSU IS ANGRY!! No, make that pissed off and tired of being disrespected. Ole Miss is a decent team but they will be 3-4 after the game with LSU.

Love the points. Under Miles this would have been a 16-10 win. Slow start in the first half, but I believe they just lacked the motivation. Hosting an angry Ole Miss next week.

I agree, there would have been no adjustments under CLM. Glad to see the second half onslaught
