ESPN's Mel Kiper Has Two Tigers Going Early In The 2018 NFL Draft

ESPN NFL Draft analyst Mel Kiper Jr. released his list of the top 25 prospects for the 2018 Draft and included LSU pass rusher Arden Key and running back Derrius Guice.

Key was No. 8 and Guice was No. 16 in the top 25. Here is what he had to say about both players. Per NOLA.com:

"Key is in limbo after taking a leave of absence from the LSU football team, though he is expected to return soon. The lanky, 6-6, 231-pound Key is a fantastic pass-rushing talent who can close quickly on quarterbacks. He has 17 sacks in two seasons (12 in 2016). He needs to improve against the run, but that should come in time when he adds weight to his frame."

"Guice isn't the athletic specimen Fournette is, but I liked everything I saw from him last season, when Guice rushed for 1,387 yards and 15 touchdowns -- and averaged 7.6 yards per carry -- while Fournette battled injuries. Guice (5-11, 222) showed good burst running between and outside the tackles, and he's a physical runner."

Key will go earlier (top 4 at least). 16 seems about right for Guice.

the NFL isn't a RB league anymore. A team can get what they need at RB without using a high pick. Draft linemen, on both sides of the ball. It ain't sexy, but that's where it all begins.

Key isn't 6'6 230 anymore, he's 6'6 260 and will play around 250 but the leave also gave much needed time to his backups which will be on the field on 3rd down opposite side of him and are just as athletic and scary. Thorton and Anthony, add the two freshman middle backers to that rotation behind Devin White and Donnie Key will be able to show off this year. We will have some serious rushing ability this year. White is a real play maker with Key on the field along with our depth look out. Key is also very solid against the run idk what this guy is talking about. I guess just because he's long and lanky he's assuming he needs to work on the run? Teams don't run to his side for a reason but after putting D white opposite of key they will have to run his way and his stats will go up.

He says Key needs to improve against the run when the guy he had #1 in the draft this season was one of the worst against the run in the SEC. Myles Garrett was awful against the run his entire career at TAMU. He got selected #1 based on hype, and Kiper was yelling at people on national television that Garrett is the best prospect he ever seen. Key is better than Garrett already in my opinion.
