ESPN recently put out their list of teams that were winners and losers from NFL draft early entries over the last two week and put LSU in the loser category after losing six key players from the 2017 squad.
quote:

LSU: The Tigers haven't won the SEC since 2011, but they continue to lose underclassmen to the NFL at a staggering rate. LSU has had 31 early draft entries in the past six seasons after six more declared before Monday's deadline. The hits come on both sides of the ball, especially on defense, as cornerbacks Donte Jackson and Kevin Toliver II depart, along with edge rusher Arden Key. Running back Derrius Guice, who rushed for 2,638 yards the past two seasons, also exits. While these decisions aren't surprising, the overall number hurts an LSU program trying to compete for titles again.
Winners:
Clemson
Wisconsin
West Virginia
Washington
Ohio State

Losers:
Virginia Tech
LSU
Florida State
Texas
Alabama
Tennessee

Early draft entry does hurt LSU and Bama but it also helps a great deal when it comes to future recruiting. Blue chip football recruits are paying close attention to the NFL draft and every LSU and Bama player being selected helps our recruiting efforts immensely. It’s definitely a double edged sword.

Why would they stay? No chance to win a NC with this staff.

You're an idiot, of the 6 leaving this year only Guice, Key and Clapp have a shot at good money. Only Clapp has a degree!

Donte Jackson will make good money on his rookie contract because he will get drafted earlier than he should because of his speed. Whoever draft him will see he is a huge liability in coverage and after his intial contract, he will resort making a team as a return specialist. He should have returned to school and polished his coverage skills. Tolliver will eventually become a decent, low cost, corner. I expect him to have a career similar Claiborne's. All these DBs headed to the league before they are truly prepared is watering down the DBU brand!

Why would they stay with fans like you rooting for failure.

This makes no sense. Who gets paid to shell out this info. A team wins by losing talent...??
