During the Head Coaches Peach Bowl press conference on Friday, LSU's Ed Orgeron said that starting running back Clyde Edwards-Helaire (hamstring) will be a game-time decision for Saturday vs. Oklahoma.
quote:

Q. Ed, I got to ask, is there an update on Clyde? What is the latest on Edwards-Helaire's progress?

ED ORGERON: He's not practiced yet. He worked out with the trainers. He felt a little sore after he worked out. I talked to him last night. Obviously, if Clyde's ready to play, we're going to let him play. That's going to be a game-time decision.

The trainers are going to let us know if he's able to play, first of all. Then I'm going to ask him: Are you ready to play? Knowing Clyde, he's going to want to play. Do I think he plays? Yeah. How much he plays, I don't know. That's still -- we still got a ways to go there. He's still a little sore. He's not 100 percent healthy, obviously.

I don't know if he can cut yet, and he doesn't know if he can cut yet. We'll see.

If we are not in control by 7.30 of the third qtr, play him. Otherwise, give the groan another week's rest. Groin injuries heal slowly. I doubt even if rested this week, he would complete a championship game.

Rest him until we might need him. He shouldnt start, and should only play if the spark is needed

Rest him for the CG. Oky will be a cake walk.

Either he isn't playing or he will be put in for pass protection on certain plays. No way they are running him or passing the ball to him. Don't want him cutting.

“He felt a little sore after he worked out. “ That tells me all I need to know. Sit him.

In other words, Clyde ain’t playing tomorrow. Clyde was excellent catching out of the back this year — we have a stable of talented running backs but haven’t seen as much of their catching abilities in prime time.
