LSU head coach Ed Orgeron joined ESPN's 104.5 FM’s "Off The Bench" show to provide some team updates heading into Spring Practice which starts this Sunday.

Orgeron touched on the current competition on the offensive line, saying that sophomore Lloyd Cushenberry is the man to beat right now ahead of true freshman Cole Smith, and JUCO transfer Damien Lewis.

Orgeron also talked about the depth at running back and said that senior Nick Brossette will starts as No. 1 in the Tigers running back group, followed by sophomore Clyde Edwards-Helaire, junior Lanard Fournette, and true freshman Tae Provens.

Sounds like the O-line looks good, and the senior RB is good at the running game scheme we run. I'm in.

Thinnest LSU has been at RB since i can remember. Hope someone can step up.

Nick Brossette scares me as the #1 RB. Never really showed much except for 1 game. I was at the Troy game and watched him get blown up on play #1. I hope more reps means better vision.

Got blown up cause our o line was without 3 starters and they pulled 2 redshirts off that week for o linemen. So hard to say how he’ll be. We should pass more so may not have to rely as much on the run.
