People will always question a coaches decision when they lose a game. I agree that he should have kicked the FG there and I even said it at the time, we should just get 3 points here because the defense was playing so good. At the same time, I also understand that we’re trying to be aggressive and win this game by going for the TD but my complaint is why not start playing Nuss during the second half. I’m almost certain that it would have made a huge difference in the run game which wasn’t bad to begin with. That would have opened up passing lanes as well as running room for the QB to take off on big gains. Nuss has better ball speed by a long shot and also isn’t afraid to throw the ball early. That throw between two defenders in the back of the end zone was a special pass and also showed that he can anticipate routes. We could have started running wildcat plays for short and goal line plays. We could have also ran some option plays to either side allowing LSU to leave DLman unblocked and pull OLman as well as having the big TE to block. We could start running more legit RPO plays and actually spread the defense out. The entire offense could open up and change. Not to mention that the Bama game was the perfect time to pull that out and start getting ready for competition next year. Imo Max either needs an offense like 2019 or to be a more mature QB to succeed at the level that we need him to play. Nuss may have a bad series or even a bad game but he’ll also have the ability to win games for you and this is the year to get those things aired out.

If I went in there to win a game and you 14 to 20 with like 8 minutes left I think it was, I would have kicked a field goal when tigers were at the 8 yard line instead of going for it and came away with nothing. The defense has stood their ground for most of the game for the tigers, kick a field goal. And when tigers were down a by a touch down just outside the 20 yard line within a few mins left game is much more manageable to kick another field goal and give your team at least a chance instead of slim to no chance the way max Johnson loves to hold on to the ball forever and a day. His receiver jack beach was open several times when held on to the ball too long, ans when Jack beach was open a couple times the qb over threw him. Get your other qb maybe he having a rough time in that series, try something new. But that's If you trying to win a game or give your team it's best shot to win a game. Does not really matter if you will no longer will be head of football team at seasons end so you can say whatever you want. If you got a chance to beat a team well take the points don't say hell fuuck no don't want the points take it and win the game.
